Pals

Chevy got his hair cut today and it was quit funny to hear Rose E's reaction, he returned during her nap and when she woke-up she saw him on our bed and started to laugh saying "haircut" then she covered him up with this blanket (it is amazing how different they look without all of that hair).
Kiss, kiss where have you been mi amour?!?

It is so much easier now that Rose E is able to tell us things, this morning I was awakened with her saying "it hurts"...."ears." So I took her in to the doctor and found out that she has an ear infection in both ears(she has a cold also), poor thing, she's a trooper though.

Walter's been keeping busy of course playing trains and yesterday as he was using his calculator for a remote control he said "I have a t.v in mine head that tells me how to use the remote so mine trains won't crash." He also told me that this t.v helps him to come up with new layouts. Oh, he sure does make us laugh sometimes! He was tired too today and was rubbing his eyes (in the past I have told him that, that means he is tired) and after he realized he was rubbing them he looked at me and said "I'm not tired, I don't need a nap, I'm doing that because mine eyes are dirty." What a couple of Goofs.

They sure are uplifting!

Ahh the life of a dog, so ruff (yes that is indeed a yawn). He likes to be as up high as possible to keep watch on anyone entering his territory (which includes the sidewalk in front of our house).
We've continued to have a few more nice days, weather wise here. Yesterday on our walk whenever we would get to a road that we crossed, the kids would say "ding ding ding" or make train bell noises the whole length of the crosswalk. Then today I had to laugh because we did some shopping and when we got to our vehicle Rose E made train brake noises (it's no wonder with the brother (and Daddy) that she lives with).
These kids sure do keep us smiling:) The other day Walter woke-me up out of bed and said "mama mine hungry is on." Oh and yesterday I had a little cut on my finger and this was of great concern to Walter he would ask me "how is your hurt?" Sometimes he pretends to be my doctor and I get some pretty funny doctor advice. But it is just so sweet how concerned he is becoming for others. Rose E is turning into a little sweet heart too. Lately whenever we read stories she has to load my lap with dolls(because she doesn't want them to miss out) and of course their blankets too. She is getting to know what pretty much everything in the books are but a couple of days ago I had to chuckle because their was a dog eating out of a dog bowl and when I said what is that dog doing she said "bowling."

Ahh, a breath of fresh air!

"peep a boo!"
The last couple of days we have had weather in the 30's and 40's, yahoo! Both days we went for walks, it has been so refreshing, the warmer weather has melted some of our snow but I still couldn't resist this picture, check out those banks!

About a month ago Walter put a claim on this little calculator and it has been turned into everything from a "chocolate maker" to "a measurer ( a tape measure)" to a universal "remote for his trains and cars." This kid sure does have an imagination that is for sure. I just never know what is going to be claimed as the next true treasure I guess.

He has also been into making-up games. For this game Jeff, Rose E and I had to chase who ever was "it" and then if that person didn't want to be caught they could hold up a piece of paper and "sappear (disappear).

Speaking of games, this girl is now our basketball queen. She loves this ball and has discovered fun places to throw it into (off the side of the railing of our steps, through the bottom part of our stools, through openings in Walter's block creations, etc.)
It was cute too tonight I took her with to story hour and we got to the front of the library and she excitedly said "read." She certainly knows everything that is going on now! Oh and speaking of reading, a couple of nights ago when Walter was suppose to be going to bed I caught him in his bed with his trains all lined up in a row "reading them good night stories."
Ta ta for now....hugs and kisses!

Happy happy Birthday Cale!

Just peeking in to say......
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALE!

We went to his Birthday party yesterday, here he is anxiously waiting to open his gifts.

and here is Emily with Rose E and Brady. My kids sure do love going there. Walter is still talking about all of the cool Thomas train things that Cale has. Oh and speaking of talking, while there, little Miss Rose E barely said two words and then as soon as we got home she was singing "Happy Birthday" and when I said whose Birthday is it she said "Cale's" and then she was just talking away (what's up with that girlfriend?)
Before the party we went to see the snow statues for winter carnival. Walter had been asking for days when we would get to go, then we finally go and look what happened! I guess it didn't help that he had been up since 5:30 in the morning (that plow seems to take turns as to what child it wakes up lately in this house). Anyway, at least the weather wasn't that bad it was actually in the 30's. I was thinking to myself, it is funny how 30's seems so warm for us in February and it would have felt so cold say in September.

The weather had melted some of the details but they where still neat to look at. I took a picture of this one because it is WALL E, Walter loves WALL E and we sometimes tease him and call him WALL E. Then I got a kick out of this sign by the statue that said.....

The theme was an outer space one so here we are again sitting next to another statue with some aliens. I couldn't believe they both slept through the whole thing, they got a lot of attention but had no idea that they did.

Counting the days until we can see our picnic table again!

Jeff and Walter built this truck together the other day and Walter said "Daddy is the best builder in the whole world." He says the cutest things sometimes. Jeff was also working on his train layout and had two model outhouses out and Walter said "Daddy why are those in houses there?"

We have received over two feet of snow this week! Ugh is it ever going to stop?!? I was looking at our picnic table, daydreaming about how Walter and I would play board games on it almost everyday during Rose E's naps this summer and realized that it just looks like a couple of big bumps in the snow, it is pretty much buried! Yesterday too I walked to the post office and chuckled to myself because banks against the sidewalk (the entire length of peoples yards) where higher than my elbow when I stood by them. I am so ready for spring this year (and for that plow to stop making all of that racket in front of our house at 5:00 a.m every morning).

Rose E is continuing to amaze us everyday. The other day she said a sentence to Jeff and I counted 8 words in it. She doesn't miss anything. It was cute because she saw an advertisement for a plate with the Last Supper on it and said "Jesus...the Bible." She has also been into counting our steps when she walks down them and can now count to 14.

Take the good with the bad.

Well, this week didn't start out so great for Walter but ended with a lot of fun. On Wednesday he broke out into hives and little by little it spread throughout his entire body. We gave him benadryl but as soon as it wore off the hives where even worse than they before so we ended up taking him into the emergency room. They put him on some medicine which helped but we still do not know the cause. Then came the good... He got to have his first sleep over. We had his cousin Cale for the night and these two kids played with trains in some sense from morning until night. It was fun to see those imaginations at work and Walter didn't want him to leave when it was time for him to go (and is still asking for him to come back). Here we made some popcorn and as you can see they even carried train things into the kitchen.
Cale said "I wish your house was closer too mine(we live about 15-20 minutes away) but I wouldn't want you to get another house because you have a lot of cool toys here." Of course anytime we go over to Cale's house I hear about how cool his toys are too.
Then this weekend my parents came for a short trip. Rose E of course hammed it up. Here she is making a pretend dog carrier into a hat.

As you can see in the picture here Rose E has one of Walter's shirts on too. My dad made a set of blocks for Walter and he has been creating some neat things ever since. Mostly train sheds and tunnels of course.
