That's How God Made Me!

Tonight after giving Rose E a shower we where combing her hair and I said "Rose E how does your hair get so tangled and she said "that's how God made me." Then she said "did you see God make me?" I said "no" and then she went on to explain how she thought he made her. I thought it was so cute that I made her repeat it for the camera. The first time she told me that "he gave me fake eyes than put things in my eyes to help me see."

Weekend adventures.

Last weekend we took another quick trip to Minnesota to do some four wheeling. This deer was running along side our machine and then crossed the trail in front of us, it was neat to watch

and of course Walter and Jeff where more than thrilled to see this train go under the bridge we where on.

Another stop by a bridge with a pretty view.

This weekend the kids had a blast at the Hockey Association carnival. They got quiet the workout climbing, jumping and sliding on all of the blow-up activities there! Here are Rose E and Walter sitting with their close friend Emily. I think Rose E was wearing more cotton candy than she ate when she was done, but, it sure was fun! She is turning into quiet the fashion queen! She gives me strict instructions almost every day to dress her in a skirt. She is also very much into jewelry and head bands. So much different than Walter!

Daddy's little girl!

This girl just adores that Daddy of hers!

Speaking of Rose E, she made me laugh the other day. She saw the guys practicing football at the school and excitedly said "I see the Packers", Walter chuckled and said Rose E they aren't the Packers they are the high school team.

Agate Falls

This weekend we took our Ranger Four wheeler to Bruce Crossing, Michigan.
Then we hiked along Agate Falls, it was breathtaking!

A family picture

Walter and Rose E's cousin, Kirsten.

It's official he is a first grader!

Walter came home on the first day of school and said "I can tell I'm a lot smarter already."

The beautiful copper country

We took this picture last weekend out at White City by Jacobsville. We had the dog with us and he was a little leery about walking on this break wall!

Beautys!

This is what we found under our pillows tonight from Walter, does it get any sweeter than that?
This girl has been all into jewels lately! Even the cat has been sparkling. Oh, and she keeps reminding me that her stuffed dogs, cats and dolls are real. The other day she said "you know my baby is real but she will never get as big as me." Oh the innocents of childhood!

We had a beautiful day exploring the shores of Lake Superior. Check out those waves. The kids where in their glory. Walter said "they look like fireworks."

My little rock collector, she had a hard time leaving any behind.

Walter was on the hunt for caves, some exciting business!

Last but not least, we don't go anywhere these days without a puppy, kitty or dolly!

Our quick trip to Minnesota

They always know how to keep us smiling!
We took the kids four wheeling again in Minnesota starting from Moose Lake and ending by the Wisconsin border. Five miles into the trip we got a flat tire from a jagged rock, good thing Jeff goes well prepared!

And now we are off again!

Of course the pictures don't do justice, this is a picture of rolling hills and a stream running down below.

This was Walter's favorite part of the trip(and probably Jeff's too)! Tracks and trains!

The kid's where tickled pink when Jeff picked up a turtle and moved it off of the trail. It is always a suspense as to what wildlife we will see. While we where changing the tire deer up ahead of us where crossing the trail, and we also saw what looked like a coyote, crane birds, and rabbits.

Our trip to Mackinc Island and to the Soo Locks

Pictures of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island

and eating a delicious lunch there too.

Downtown Mackinac, listening to the sound of horses trotting by while eating that famous fudge!

A view of the bridge from Mackinac city

An iron ore boat gliding under the Mackinac bridge
and a visit to the Soo Locks to watch those huge ships sail through the locks.
What a great trip!

Back on the home front now.

Last night as I took the kids out to play, I said the weather is so nice and Walter said "but there are no bugs." He was obviously disappointed because he has been a little bug scientist lately, however, I think the majority of the world would prefer no bugs!

Rose E on the other hand, can't wait to be a little lady! I took her with me to the grocery store, she had to bring her purse with her, and when we got to the carts she didn't want to ride inside of them and said "remember I am a little adult now so can I walk?" She also has been pretending to have an imaginary sister that is named Rose Ella. Rose Ella is to blame for any mischief around here!

Puppy Love

This morning Rose E said "Chevy's face is always painted on like that" in other words he doesn't have many expressions. Too funny.

This picture was taken at the camp (cabin).

Nothing like the Lake Superior sand at the camp (cottage)!

Love'n summer

On one of the hot, hot days we took our Ranger up to Eagle River, Michigan. Such beautiful territory. Look at this superstar Diva sitting next to her idol, her Daddy!
We stopped at a beach to cool off, these kids loved taking a dip in the water and checking out the rocks.
Then we ate ice cream next to a flowing water fall.
And here's the view from one of the bridges on the way home.

Yesterday we also took a trip up to Copper Harbor.

We admired Jacob's fall for quite some time and the kids loved dipping in their toes.

We also toured the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, here Walter is on the look out dock.

Walter has really been into sunken ships and underwater creatures so touring these museums on the lighthouse grounds was right up his alley. Of course Rose E enjoyed it too.
