Every day is an adventure with kids!

So today I thought it would be like a usual afternoon with Rose E playing with her toy pets (and dog cards)
and Walter building mining/ train track creations. Little did I know when I came back out of the bathroom that I would come back out to this!
Rose E's FIRST HAIRCUT! Luckily it was mainly only one big chunk and could have been worse. But most definitely I had not planned on frantically searching for a hair salon to fix it near closing time on a Saturday night!
Luckily, I was able to get her in so here she is after she got her hair cut, she sat perfectly during the whole thing (probably as perfectly as she sat for her brother when he decided to cut her hair too, who knows with that kid he probably thought the strands could be rail ties or something)!
And tada a new doo and presentable for church tomorrow too! What a day!

Phew!

I am glad to say that our t.v commercial filming is done. The camera man interviewed both Jeff and I separately and then filmed us with the kids eating a snack, playing and pretending to put the kids to sleep. It should be interesting to see what they use (after all of that they only use about 30 seconds of us). He said they should have the commercial done in about a week and that we will be able to view it before it is aired. It will be strange to see ourselves on t.v!

On the kid front here. Walter has been quiet the little scientist asking us questions such as
"why does ice float?" and "what are seashells made out of?" Never thought we would be explaining things such as molecules to a five year old! Rose E is still saying the cutest things. When she gets a cut she has to inspect it every morning to see if it "died." So this morning she said "my owie(scratch) on mine foot died who took it away (it healed)?"

Oh the innocents of childhood

A couple of days ago Walter was teasing Rose E and Rose E said "you are pulling my sock(instead of leg)" and Walter looked at her with the most confused look on his face then said "huh?" The whole thing made me laugh.

On another note, they are shooting the commercial for Retro Foam at our house on Monday! Yikes!!!

Local celebreties to be!

It just amazes me how from one day to the next you never know what is going to be around the corner! Anyway, this fall we had retro foam installation put into our walls. The product has worked great, our house is much warmer and no longer has drafts. Plus has saved us a bundle each month in our heating bill already. So yesterday I get this phone call from the company. I immediately assumed they where going to do a survey but instead we where asked to be in one of their t.v commercials! So next week they will be coming to our house to film our home and interview us! Holy cow!

Smile:)

One last picture taken last week of the kids in front of the tree this year. Man I can't believe how fast the holidays flew by this year!
This boys passion! You guessed it trains, trains, trains! Pretty much all day long whatever he is doing has something to do with a train! Even when he plays outside in the snow he makes "train tracks" in the yard.
And here is Miss independent or "I do it" Here she is taking off her shirt to get her pajamas on. However, the shirt had to stay on her head for a while because she said "look I am a queen." It makes me smile to hear these two and their imaginations at work all day long! Oh and now when Rose E washes her hands she has to say "good bye" to the bubbles and blows them three kisses as they go down the drain!

I can't believe my boy is five now!

A couple of days before his Birthday he said "when I'm five will I be an indult(adult)?" He has all of these plans for when he is a grown up to buy a certain house that is"on"sale right now and put lots of trains in it. He will also be an engineer according to these plans.
Though he is a train guy he's also a car guy so he picked out these race cars for his cake. The big debate was which car should be in front?
The next morning when Walter woke-up he said "my party was so much fun that I wish we could do it again."

Hope everybody had a very Merry Christmas!

Here are a few pictures from the holidays.
Our little princess taking a nap on Walter's new road rug Christmas day.
The gang at Jeff's parents house on Christmas day. His grandparents, parents and Rose E and Walter.
Christmas morning. Walter of course got his favorite, train stuff!
And we now have a new cook in our house!
Lastly, here are the kids in Wisconsin celebrating with my family. They are sitting with their cousin Colton in the picture. It was cute on the way there Walter said "the further and further we get away from my trains, the more my heart breaks because they are my friends." A true train guy indeed!
